We have news!

Via Publishers Weekly:

Former v-p of Nancy Coffey Literary, Joanna Stampfel-Volpe, has branched out on her own. The literary agent has formed New Leaf Literary & Media and, she said in a release, is bringing "a substantial" portion of the business from Nancy Coffey with her.

New Leaf will be handling sub-rights for Nancy Coffey, as well as a number of clients who were using that agency for that aspect of their business. And, on June 25, Pouya Shahbazian, who is currently at Fineprint Literary Management, will be joining the staff. Shahbazian will be overseeing New Leaf's film and TV department.

In her announcement about the new agency, Stampfel-Volpe said Coffey is "an icon in the literary and media publishing industry" and that she and her staff will "continue to work closely with her going forward where opportunities arise."

Please stay tuned, as we will update you on new query guidelines, contacts, etc soon.
